adelaide proud
little adelaide
supermild
duthy st cafe
very cute cafe, they serve great breakfast and lunch. this cafe is probably one of my favourites, but there are other great cafes on duthy street. other good adelaide cafes of notes are: brown dog cafe on goodwood road, doof doof on duthy st and jones the grocer on king william road.
brighton
i have always preferred brighton as a beach to glenelg, and most likely because its the closest beach to me.. but since i've been away i've realised i love that beach more than i knew! i didnt realise how easy it was to drive down there, get a park and lay on the sand. there are cute cafes along the road.. you don't realise how lovely our beaches are until you leave australia. like i loved the beaches in spain and france, but adelaide ones really are just as nice, they just aren't in spain or france! i think, that really is the only difference!
chocolate bean
oh god chocolate. this place is always packed but its a cute date spot or good place to catch up 1 on 1 with a friend. get the chocolate fondue with strawberries. SO GOOD.
so even though i have been completely swept away by london, probably because its AMAZING! .. i still miss my home town of adelaide. and i have realised being away, there are actually really great places in adelaide ... and now i realise how much i miss them! so i thought i'd give you a few of my favourite adelaide haunts..
vegos
all tiime best place to go for cheap fresh lunch on rundle street. i love how informal it is and how great the food is! the classic tofu burger and banana shake are my favourites. vegos on rundle
gilles st markets
every time i got to gilles st i am impressed. such a great selection of clothes and bits and peices, and some really impressive small adelaide designers. and even though it is much smaller, the quality of gilles st is nearly on par with some of the markets in london.

east terrace continental -my friend works here, and i just love the buzz of how busy it is on sat and sun mornings. the fresh orange juice is the best.

LAX
sometimes they buy in terrible stock, but they order in some great brands so sometimes they have AMAZING stuff. i love camilla and marc and they also stock some cute cheap brands as well. they also are the only stockists of nudie jeans that i know of in adelaide.

please comment (haha if you know adelaide) if know of other good spots that i don't know of..
so in summary, i think that adelaide really isn't that bad... x

so my long-standing singledom is starting to get to me. being single for this long time has started to make me a little hard-hearted... like wanting to scream GET A ROOM at couples merely holding hands. and people these days they just make out in really public places! like on the tube, there will just be couples macking away right in front of you. ew gross. anyway, due to my encroaching bitterness i have decided i need to come to terms with.. couples (VOM) and try to start feeling comfortable around people that are happy and in love. its going to be tough...

lily
all photos from www.dazeddigital.com
one of my favourite models is lily cole. her red hair and baby blue eyes! ah so stunning. but i was even more blown away by her than usual when i saw her on the front cover of the november issue of dazed and confused. it is such a great cover, the blanket of peacock feathers against her hair is so striking.
correct me if i am wrong, but i don't beleive she has been on the catwalk this year. most likely because she has been filming a movie! i am really excited to see her in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - but mainly i am really excited to be see health ledger again.. sigh.

gothic fantasy
all photos from http://www.myspace.com/corpuschristijewels
on recent travels to paris one of the most amazing discoveries was corpus christi. their small boutique was furnished old wood, stuffed birds, beautiful old mirrors and walls covered in the most stunning, delicate necklaces, rings and bracelets. so pretty but twisted with skulls, guns and thorns. the gold ring of skulls with flowers must be mine.. . when i have some money :(

paris j'taime
favourite city
this question is very difficult. i don't really know why i asked it of myself.
after thinking long and hard i would have to say... paris. it is a little cliché but it is just
so beautiful at night - walking along the seine and seeing eiffel tower
in the background is really hard to beat.
my second favourite would be berlin.
it was so full of history and great shops,
the whole city is constantly changing,
it is so interesting.
least favourite city
i can't think of anywher i paritcularly disliked, but i would have to say bordeaux.
adele and i went there on a whim without much research.
it turned out to be quite an average city, with not much going on
or very intersting things to see or do. if i can do it again, i would choose
to go somewhere else i think.
favourite country
my most favourite country is switzerland. it is so beautiful and clean.
and everyone is friendly, it would be a lovely place to live.
least favourite country
i don't have a least favourite country - how can you in europe? there were annoying
things about each country - italy had huge train reservation fees, the south of italy was kind of
dirty and terrifying. i hate the tourist trap areas of each city - poor quality, overpriced restuarants.
you really have to search hard for good food and a decent price in europe .
most memorable moment
hah either seeing leighton meester in colette (i'm so sad), or to be more truthful
i would say swimming at the beach in positano. it was such a spectacular day.
the water was so warm and the view so incredible.
worst moment
hahah. probably staying in venice mestre train station all night,
and the worst worst moment was the next morning actually in venice
when adele and i could not find the hostel and were so tired we couldn't
stand. that was a low-point. being in venice made up for it though.
favourite day
clear winner is catcing the train up to the summit of jungfrau in switzerland.
it was the best day, adele and i made a snowman and made
snow angels.
favourite food
probably a macaroon i had in avignon, or the endless amounts of
patisserie in paris. also in the running is the chocolate orange gelato i had in rome.

wintery
so my love for winter - scarves. i decided today more than ever that i LOVE them. i bought a HUGE long chunky cream scarf by sissy boy in amsterdam. quite good. they can really add to your outfit - make it look interesting when it might have been a little boring before! or maybe thats just me. american apparel also has some pretty good cotton chunky endless scarves that i would totally buy it if i wasn't in europe and it wasn't SO overpriced! i love accessories ... what are your favourites?

love a good magazine.. and a trashy one
today i went to the most incredible store - 'Do You Read Me?!' on auguststrasse in mitte, berlin. a beautiful collection of fashion, art and design magazines. i LOVE magazines, i spend a great deal of money on them even though i realise i'll read it through so quickly and then be finished with it. my favourites are RUSSH which is the most incredible australian fashion magazine, Nylon, and various australian trashy magazines like Famous, Grazia and NW. (oh they are so good and cheap) and since coming overseas I have fallen in love with Pop, AnOther and Love. Today in Do You Read Me?! i stumbled across a pretty magazine called 'I Love You'. it is only their 2nd edition, but its full of inspiring images, and cute but realistic interviews. i also (ashamedly) bought Grazia there as well. both loves were fulfilled today - a good quality, rare magazine and an indulgent trashy one. BEST
